Regional discovery uses a country you select, a coarse country lookup from your current IP address, or your browser’s language preference. The application does not retain the full address for regional discovery.
Accounts
If you sign in, Supabase stores your email identity, authentication session, channel votes, hidden sources, and content preferences. Authentication uses necessary cookies. Adult content remains disabled unless an authenticated adult explicitly enables it.
Direct media requests
Streams do not load until you choose to start playback or select a channel. Your browser then contacts the original source directly. That operator receives ordinary network information such as your IP address and browser request metadata under its own policies.
Optional peer-to-peer playback
Signed-in members may explicitly enable peer-to-peer playback. When enabled for compatible HLS streams, your device may exchange recent stream segments directly with other viewers of the same channel. Those peers can observe your public IP address. Broadcast Atlas operates the peer-discovery tracker but does not relay or retain media segments.
Telemetry
Broadcast Atlas keeps aggregate country-level counts for playback attempts, successes, failures, and watches. When a member enables P2P, it also keeps aggregate byte counts and counts of direct peer connections, connection failures, and tracker errors. These counters help rank sources, identify unreliable streams, and diagnose whether direct P2P works. They do not store a full IP address, account identifier, peer identifier, or stream URL, and they are not used to build an individual viewing history. Channel votes are linked to an account so you can change them and receive your personal ranking; combined vote totals also affect shared rankings. Short-lived operational visit records use a daily rotating pseudonymous visitor key and a coarse device category, then expire automatically.
